Anyone do this on a consistent basis? I find that with the 275 rears that its not that easy, unless you get really agressive with dsc off. Or maybe mine is down on power?

You need a diesel - lots of low-rev torque to light those 275's up

1. it would be TIRE, NOT tireS
2. if you take DSC off, in the rain mine spin everytime ... and i have a 530i ...
3. why would anybody want to? wear on tires, wear on drivetrain ... & you look pretty sily doing a ONE wheel burnout :-P

And light them I will soon! Not long now before she gets traded in so leave em with nothing I say (Thats tyre tread) I'm sure BMW will be able to pop some new boots on seeing as they're stealing the car off me!

I do it all the time - almost always coming out of a turn. You can smoke the tires from a standstill, but it does wear the tread, and is tough on the drivetrain. With DSC completely off, and the car in 1st gear, going through a 90 degree turn, I'll hit the gas and easily break the back end loose with the tires spinning. After a little practice, I can do it smoothly enough so the car drifts beautifully, and with the active stability control, it's hard to tell the car is sliding.

I've done it a few times with passengers (fellow enthusiasts only!), and they can't believe how smooth and well-behaved the car is.

All you guys with 45's have your fun. I can't even get a chirp out of my 30's tires dsc on or off even in m1.

really? if i turn DSC off, i get little bumpy chirps in the dry - on straight, full tire spin on a 90* turn .... & in the wet .. forget about it ... it spins on a straight ... like a b!tch. .... but then again ... WHY do it ... one wheel burn outs are silly, dangerous ... tire & drivetrain wear .. :-/
