Lighter steering on newer cars ?????

Merv i think you hit the nail on the head

I test drove one of the last e61 before servotronic was fitted as standard, the difference between that car and mine which has servotronic is vast.

The steering in my car is so much more responsive and easier to turn at slow speeds, and that is still the case now i have 19" 172's fitted.
