Differences in LM2? Do you mean between LM2 modules or between the LM2 and LM1? Might want to think about it as well, your headlights may not work anymore and the taillights will definitely throw errors.

I've upgraded my light module from LM1 to LM2 on my pre-LCI. It would require coding to get it working. One thing I have now is having the angel eyes as DRL and welcome lights. Again, all this require coding.

Yes. There's a different part number depending on if you have halogens vs. xenon, HUD, also adaptive xenons.

Both LM1 and LM2 work on Xenon, but if you're getting a used one get it out of a car that had Xenon and you'll have a better chance that it can be coded to your car. Used LM2s are VERY iffy about being coded to anoher car.

Here's a page from realoem. I spec'd out a 550i LCI Europe, right hand drive. Here's the part numbers for the Light Module 2 depending on what option you have.

Also, shoot an email to Gary Romani of bmwofnewport. He's very helpful to forum members. Give him your VIN and he can provide the proper LM2 upgrade for you.
