i got it a few times in SF. I usually just bring the ticket for correction to a nearest police station, usually fillmore. but before that, i would stick the plate using 2 double-sided tapes first just in case they wanna check the car. but they never check..

Yeah..paid the fix-it ticket for both violations...but, it's $25 all together...$10 to get it signed off...and another $15 to get it registered...
All in all - a waste of a beautiful afternoon in SoCal...
This has even got me turned off for future mods - was going for the all black look...but now I got a white front plate and clear front windows...
-Frustrated in SoCal

You do not have to correct the violations, simply pay the fines (no points)...They cost more ($144 for no plates) but keep your tint and front plate off.

cant we get away with putting the plate on top of the dash?
i dont get why the cops would bother you about that, i understand if they said something about no having one if they pulled you over for something else but thats just anal, and the tint? dude its hot in socal, tell the cops to suck a fat one
kinda makes me afraid to move to irvine :\
Dude - I got pulled over soley b/c I had no plate...no other reason...in the middle of the day...in LA mind you...
Also, got pulled over last week..same scenario as above...b/c I had window tint...had to rip it off my front windows the other day...
I guess I didn't get the memo that police officers are now board in LA as it is NOW the safest place to live!?
Honestly, just seems to me that they should be concentrating keepin' an eye out for the real criminals...
I guess the arguement would be that the car might be stolen...I don't know...just frustrated...
Just my 2 cents

Wow $100 for a fixing ticket?
Here in Los Angeles you pay $10 if you get it fixed.

The law is the law. I would love to walk around with my special cigarettes in the city but that's not happening. I would prefer to get rid of the license plates completely since that's pretty outdated stuff for a digital world these days. Just do it besides the local cops harass you even more about it in the future.
