Wow $100 for a fixing ticket?

Here in Los Angeles you pay $10 if you get it fixed.
Well $100 if you don't fix it. Otherwise I think it's also $10 or so.

hey vrungel.. sorry to hear about the tickets.. but I was wondering.. Have you accumulated a bunch of front license plate tickets, but haven't paid them yet? Do you have to put on a front plate temporarily to get it signed off in addition to paying the fine?
I got like three of them within two weeks at different times. I haven't done anything yet to remedy the problem. I wanted to see first how people deal with it as I've seen a bunch of other cars without the front plates so they gotta be dealing with those as well.

Yo Vrungel,

I live in SF also and I too don't have a front license plate. Are you getting pulled over by the cops because you don't have a front license plate or are you getting a fix it ticket added on to a parking ticket? It seems really odd if you're getting pulled over for no front license plate. If you're getting it while you're getting a parking ticket, just put your license plate visibly on the dash so they can see it through the windeshield. That's how I've been able to avoid the citation in the city.

Trev
No, I don't get pulled over. I get them while parked and they're specifically for the missing plates. Your suggestion to put the plate on the dash sounds interesting although a bit cumbersome.

Where are you getting your tickets at? I'm on the Peninsula, and haven't been bothered. I purchased the car used and it didn't have a front mount or a plate. I only have the rear one.
I get them mostly in downtown SF, and got them a couple of times in San Carlos.

Dude - I got pulled over soley b/c I had no plate...no other reason...in the middle of the day...in LA mind you...

Also, got pulled over last week..same scenario as above...b/c I had window tint...had to rip it off my front windows the other day...

I guess I didn't get the memo that police officers are now board in LA as it is NOW the safest place to live!?

Honestly, just seems to me that they should be concentrating keepin' an eye out for the real criminals...
I guess the arguement would be that the car might be stolen...I don't know...just frustrated...

Just my 2 cents

My E60 and my previous BMW didn't get hassled for it, I sure hope I don't get bothered for it anytime soon either. Hope you can just slap it on and pay the fix it fine which will only be $ 10.

Yeah..paid the fix-it ticket for both violations...but, it's $25 all together...$10 to get it signed off...and another $15 to get it registered...

All in all - a waste of a beautiful afternoon in SoCal...

This has even got me turned off for future mods - was going for the all black look...but now I got a white front plate and clear front windows...

-Frustrated in SoCal

^ Couple of people told me in SoCal they don't hassle you that much on the tints cause the heat. I know if I lived down there, I'd still have tints.
