I installed the OEM license plate LED's like the new bimmers. p/n 63267193293 will fit in the hole perfectly to replace the housing for e60, but will throw a code. I use a 50ohm 5w resistor on each side to trick the obc. That's my current setup. The light output to me is PERFECT, just as dim as the newer models not this "Look at me" nonsense. i can tell its juuust a tad whiter or brighter than if they were installed in say the 2011 535i (same p/n) i compared side by side and the 11 model seems a bit bluer, but nontheless i think its a perfect subtle look. Before that i accidentally brought p/n 63267193294 which is for the Z4 and 6 series and they wouldnt fit in the hole for the e60. So instead of returning them i carefully cracked them open placed the white board into the existing housing and soldered it and they didnt need any resistors as they dont throw codes. Since i got the correct size ones for the 5 now I use the other ones on my 02 x5 and again no codes. So it seems the "94 p/n works error free in all models but the complete OEM LED housing only fits in the z4 and 6, omg bmw!!

boramkiv, do you have any pics of your car with the 93 p/n set up? I would like to see the light output. I agree with you, I just want the OEM F10 light output. I don't need all that light to be spotted from an orbiting satalite lol.

Lol I've gotten comments on my plate lights all the time on how bright they are, I love them!

Ton of them listed on ebay for $59 + $8 shipping, unless a vendor here can beat the price.

Just got a response from Garry at BMW of Newport. The OEM's for the E90 are $24.50 plus $12 shipping to me in TX.
Also, Bruce's price for his adapters are GBP 35. He also has another one that is GBP 55, but I'm still awaiting his response on what the specialty is on that one.

So, about $100 for the total mod.

The £55 version has a circuit to stop the LEDs from Strobing on starting your car. Some people don't like the Strobing, most people don't car because the LEDs are pointing downwards and the Strobing is only visible when the licence plate lights are off when you start the car. Ofcourse both versions don't give you any error on the idrive.
