For the past 2 years I have had factory BMW chrome letter license plate frames on my car. Granted, it's a Sport model but it's definitely not an ///M Sport model. The 2008 is different. It has an ///M body kit and ///M rims, etc. Of course I would NEVER put on ///M5 plates but what about simple ///M logo frames?? I am interested to get your opinions.

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm going with M-tech parts also but...Not an M5, No M frame - my opinion.
You definitely picked the right color though!

I took plain black metal plate frames, steel wooled the finish and painted them silver gray like my vehicle and they look great.

I went through the same debate , in the end I could'nt do the M plate , despite the M logo being on the door sills, steering wheel and foot rest................. I just went with the BMW Chrome plate holders.........

either way you will be fine , it's a personal thing

Weren't you just complaining the other day about how 167 style wheels look "so out of place" on non-M cars? hmmm.

To paraphrase your repsonse to the OP in that thread:

"An E60 sedan with [an M// License Plate Frame] to me will always look like a really nice car with [the license plate frame] of another really nice car."

Contemplated the same thing for two nanoseconds, and then realized that the ///M frame would make me look like a dude who couldn't afford and M5, so I'm going to make my 550 look like one. Just MHO... Ended up keeping it simple w/ chrome BMW plates.

I don't like chrome frames so I would look for a black one but not the ///M one for the reasons above.

I have a plain black frame with nothing on it on my car.

It's purely personal choice tho.

I vote "BMW".

But how about carbon fiber frames?
