Hey All,

I was installing some LED License Plate Bulbs and cracked the housing on the left side, which resulted in having the broken pieces as well as the OEM bulb fall into the interior of the trunk lid. Now I have a big hole on the left housing, which will get wet if I leave it like that. Is there a place I can go to get this piece replaced? It seems really miniscule, but I just got the car so little things like this kind of frustrate me. Any help, advice, recommendations on where I can get a new housing would be greatly appreciated! Also, I am getting a License Bulb Malfunction message on the Rt. Bulb...have any of you had this issue and found a remedy for it?

Thanks,

There is a vendor on this forum who sells great LED versions of these housing for around $70. They are the brightest available and look great!

I forgot his name.... someone will chime in

De-emphasizing the license plate (less light) has the effect of emphasizing the car IMHO.

i changed out my license plate bulbs to white and I always get the light bulb malfunction message. They work fine though I think the error message is normal if you change out the bulbs to something different.

you could try and stop by your dealer (parts dept)to get a new bulb housing, as I believe you are asking for that and not a bulb upgrade....

but as stated, if you were/are planning on getting a bulb upgrade anyway...

Yeah I just ended up going to the dealer and paying a couple of dollars for a new one....this error message is annoying though. Thanks for the advice, I may just end up getting some new ones to get rid of the iDrive message.
