i'm currently in Germany and i shipped my E60 last week to Dallas. i will be living in New Mexico and will have to pick the car up and drive it back to NM. does anyone know if i can drive back to NM with my euro plate on and then register my car when i get to NM? i know in Arizona you can drive for 15 days with euro plate on but i couldn't find informantion on the web. tried contacting DMV few times but they're not answering the phone or the damn email.

It seems no one has an answer for you yet... I remember a several years back, my friend imported an BMW M3 from Europe and when it landed in the U.S. via New York, he bought short term insurance for it and got temporary tags and drove the car to his home in Indiana. I'm sure that someone here who knows what you will have to do will see this thread, and give some credible advice.

Otherwise, keep trying to call the DMV...

If you're in the military the answer is yes! Just check with NM to determine how long you have before registering the vehicle. Also check with the military post you're headed to. If not in the military keep trying the DMV.
