So I did put the new tips on my car and it lengthened it by about 1.5 inches over stock since the ones I got fit on the end of my OEM tips and then extended about 1.5 inches, same diameter. I am wondering if any engineers or people who know how that would effect the acoustics. I dont know if I am imagining but I think my car sounds better since I did this

Was thinking this too I almost thought this thread was spam!

Tips could effect the sound of an exhaust but probably not too much since 1.5 inches is probably less than 1% of the total length of piping.

Well the muffler primarly effects sound so its a lot more than 1 percent of the piping involved in the muffler. All the piping back to the engine does not modify sound all that much-I mean it does but the muffler tweeks the exact sound of the exhaust and that is what I am wondering-I dont think it sounds louder just different
