Lot of car dealers are doing this nowadays - having an on-line parts store. Parts from these guys will be same as you buying from any BMW dealer.
For the parts they don't have in stock, they will have to order from warehouse, after the part arrives from warehouse, then they will ship the part to you. So, you will need to wait for a week or two for the part to arrive to your door.
Other than that, there is nothing to worry about.

They are legit. I have purchased parts for my E38 and one part for the E60 from them, since I am in Ft Wayne regularly on business.

Totally stock
But still bad-ass
My dealer provided me a list of parts with costs and part numbers for repairs I need to complete...(which was very thoughtful btw) and I compared this list to the Tomkinson site. The Tomkinson site's prices CRUSHED my dearler here in the Philly burbs. It seems as though the Tomkinson dealer in Indianna bought an established BMW parts site and made it their own. There is also a Tomkinson BMW dealer in Indinanna too. Looks very legit as far as I can tell. Although, the funny thing is, if you go to the http://www.tomkinsonbmw.com webiste, there isnt a link to their discounted BMW parts site. I guess they don't want prospective buyers to know about this little gem?
Either way, I plan to buy many things from these guys in the near future.

Don't forget, Garry Romani gives us 25% off of retail part price. Just identify yourself as a 5series.net member when you contact him. I bought parts from him a few times and the prices were cheaper with shipping than the local dealer prices.
