I am really desperate here.. I forgot to close the moonroof overnight and it rained My Leather seats got drenched. It is kind of tacky to the feel. I need help. What should I do??? Is this the end of the seats? Can I treat them or do something? Please any help is appreciated.

The tackiness is probably some of the tanning oils seeping out.

Allow to dry slowly and completely.

Wipe over with dishwash detergent dampened cloth, then feed with Leather treatment such as sonus or lexol leather conditioner.

It will come up fine.

After all, the cows it came from are OK after rain

sorry to hear that man...hope the have no electrical damage...
i left my car with the moon roof open the second day i bought it luckly it only rain a few drops and all i had to do was clean thoose....
i think "KAF" has covered it....and i am sure that letting them dry slowly is the best way dont try to speed drying them up..just leave the car outside in a sunny days..im sure it will take more than one sunny day...but hopefully with some leather care they will be back to normal...and leave windows down about a centimeter so that the car can breath and speed up the drying,, maybe even prevent the smell...just dont leave them down if you think it will rain...
really hope ur seats return to normal...

The best thing you can do is take your car to a repair shop, and ask them to bake it in the paint drying booth for a while. This will dry out the carpet and prevent mildew.

Sorry to hear about this. I'd take it to a professional service to make sure everything is ok. So, it seems like this should be one of the items to add for future BMW to build smarter car, to automatically close the moonroof and all doors when it rains.

Sorry to here about your problem.

Just a thought there is a company in the UK that has developed a modification for the BMW Mini sunroof, this ties into the rain sensor for the wipers and closes the windows and sunroof when rain is detected.

It might be worth checking on the internet to see if any USA companies can do this for you.
