I don't think you can do much with it unless you have access to a programmer. The BMW DIS system (I think that's what it's called) is something that's surely very expensive. Many dealers only have one unit and I imagine that's because they can't afford more than that.
I think there's a newer programmer technology available for dealers to use but I don't imagine it's very cheap either.
Keep in mind that I'm no expert on this subject. I could be way off base here...
