got a 520d E60 and was wondering since the fogs are for show anyway is it possible to install any LED bulbs off the likes of ebay or will they throw errors?
i could not find the type which say they don't, like the license plate LEDs.

You probably can but will require resistors to prevent the error. Why not just go with HID fog kit?

was thinking that but i'd need to get 3 HID kits, 2 for headlights and 1 for fogs which are not cheap.
would be nice if you can get a HID kit that does 4 H7 bulbs.

Why 3? If you put hid on the drl lights you will lose the highbeam flash function. I would just get for headlights and fogs. The kits are super cheap anyway.

You are doing it wrong LED for DRL and HID for low/fog. You cant run HID for DRL.

i have LED bulbs in for my fog lights. i got them off ebay...i have no errors. they look pretty good.

i initially wanted to go with HIDs but i really hate that heavy washed out light that unprojected HIDs give off....not attractive IMO.

i can post a pic if youre interested...

LEDs for fogs would only be for looks only. Unless you buy the high powered LED fogs from this group (can't remember their name, cost $750 a set), otherwise the bulb replacement ones don't illuminate well at all for distance. Basically they would be worthless besides the look.

yeah i know i have the bulb ones and they are useless in the fog anyway. so might as well get LED ones to have them match with the HID low beams i will get soon.
thing is i can't find any HB4 LED ones that say canbus/error free. will it 100% give errors?
