My dealer couldn't get me the leather controller. Turns out they have all been pulled. The grease and oils from peoples hands have been discoloring the leather and causing it to peel. He said if you have one of these and need it replaced you will have to go to the original controller.
damn it BMW..I almost order the leather knob

Never like the idea of a leather knob, either the original one or the one on the M5.

My Ride: 06 530i. Premium, Sport, powere shades, Sat. radio and hopefully the occasional groupy in the seat.
I lied. Mine is black. Can't wait for it to peel off. But thats what warranty and recalls are for.

My Ride: 2005 545i Titanium Silver/Black/Poplar: Steptronic, Sport, Cold Weather, Premium Sound, Comfort Seats, Sat Radio, NAV & Shades
I don't want to scare everyone who has one that it will peel. Very well may never happen to yours. This is just what I was told that they have had problems with them. I was dissapointed because I wanted that one.
