LCI won't select a gear

My Ride: Week 17 Build, 2008 E60 535d M Sport - Titanium Silver, Black Dakota Leather, Visibility Package, Media Package, Automatic gearbox, Steering Wheel Heating, M Double Spoke 172 19" Mixed Wheels, Auto-Dim+Exterior Mirror, Comfort seats, Front Seat Heating, Aluminium Pentan interior trim,DAB Tuner, TV Function, BMW Individual Audio System 825W !!
Everything was working finre this afternoon. pulled up, locked car as normal. went to go out in it again 45mins later, doesn't select a gear, drive or reverse or neutral. Stuck in park. No warning lights on the dash. Clicked on the vehicle check, and everythings fine.

If it is the same situation you are experiencing then you may need warranty work done, hopefully someone else will be able to explain an easier fix.
