My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

This might be good for the short term. The official TSA for the E46 requires adding an extra wire for "Ground" added to the metal frame around the taillight. BMW should, at the very least, hurry up and compile a TSA for this shameful design flaw.

Yup. Very happy about it not being expensive.

Good question.

I thought about that. What causes it is a bad ground. I'm going to add an extra ground to it. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, that should get rid of the issue for good. We will see.

Please take pics of your added ground wire, and of where you ground it to. Hope your issues are resolved man!

+1 or +100?......can add me to this issue, common problem with LCI BMW taillights? Everybody should check your taillights, one of the pin will show signs of burning. I guess the smell of burning plastic is part of the ultimate driving experience from BMW?
