You wouldn't have this problem anyway. This only applies to LCI cars. Your wiring is different because your's was pre-LCI to LCI conversion.

This is what happened couple months ago Simon. I received the right tail light malfunction error. I checked it out and this was this result. I went to BMW and I bought a new bulb holder I re-used the same wire you see there for the mean time hoping it would last longer but couple days ago I received the same error again!!! Is this not what the recall was about?
