The new iDrive controller came in 2009, many LCI models have the old one.

When you look at the front opening near the fogs the LCI has a smile, and the pre-Lci has a sad face...

The windshield sprayers aren't painted on the 2008 LCI, the rims are different, the iDrive..(are there more?). I don't understand the term LCI if you roll it out and then upgrade again within the year.

LCI has different headlights with no orange reflector, different front lower grill design and orange reflectors near the fenders. The rear bumper also have the lower red reflectors and red LED rear turn signals. i have an '08 LCI with the older iDrive.
