I have been in the US (Los Angeles) for the last 2 months and I have noticed that 10% of the LCI E60's I see running around have the driver side halos burnt out. Is this something anyone else has noticed? I am not hating on LCI's, but I know the wattage went up significantly in the conversion and I am wondering if the heat/vibrations are too much for that poor bulb.

OEM halogen bulbs run hot and they blow easy. It;s stupid. HIDs run cooler and doesnt burn like the halogens.

I've replaced one side some time ago and just yesterday, one burned out. I can't remember if it's the same side or not so I can't say for sure if I've replaced both or just one side twice...

My bad, I looked at your location after reading your post. And I guess my brain retained the last thing I read only, lol.

BMW has noted this is a problem. See SI B 63 04 10. Came out in April 2010 and update in June. Titled "Daytime Running Lamp Bulb Failure. Solution is they will replace both bulbs with longlife bulbs. Just done on my wife's X5. Covers E60 and other models also.

Does anyone have that SIB handy? My car was in for that today but looking at the dealer invoice there is no way to tell whether or not it has be done. I hope it has been... my angel eyes have failed within the last two months.
