If you look carefully you will see that the USB and AUX now seem to be under the phone cradle. This is the area that was cooled when you order Advanced Air Con (now standard). So I think that the best location and you wont loose your phone cradle too.

That is much better than the previous placement of behind the console. Even the current AUX IN location is in a dumb place.
Any idea if the new LCI iPod/Aux can be retrofitted on pre-facelift cars?

For the record, about the location of the USB jack, I spoke with a BMW product manager today and he confirmed it is indeed in the console where the brochure shows it to be.

Mainly because I abhor iPod and MP3 and secondly because I'm not in the LCI market.
I wonder who first interpreted the documentation locating the USB port in the rear console?
