Hey guys, I've put a pair of H8 GP Thunder 8500K Ion bulbs on the angel eyes of my X6. When the xenon headlights are not on, the rings looks quite bright and white. But when the xenon headlights are on, the rings are much duller and yellow. Is it the same for the e60 LCI headlights? I'm suspecting there are two bulbs that supply the light for each angel eyes, not only the H8 that I've changed and that's why I don't get the bright and white light when the xenons are on. Any comments?

My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i Sport
Carbon Black Metallic/Cream Beige
Manny tranny and other stuff
Recently gone, but never forgotten:
2005 Ford Mustang GT (hence the name)
Torch Red/Crimson
Manny tranny and every option available for that year
2002 Chrysler 300M Special
Brilliant Black/Light Taupe/Dark Slate
Autostick and goo-gobs of neat features that I will sorely miss
It's an optical illusion. The xenons are way brighter than the angel eyes which makes them look yellow in comparison.

Yes i think it's the same AE's as the E60 LCI. The AE's share one bulb per side. The only bright white solution i can recommend is putting some HID kit for the AE's which i'm beta testing right now. I will post a thread when my car's all done soon!
***and I also have GP's H8 bulbs in my AE's, pics in my gallery

I checked with my friend tonight. It's not an illusion. The angel eyes really turn more yellow and duller once the xenons light up. Couldn't figure out why!!!

I believe there is less power output on the angel eyes when the xenons are on. Not more yellow, just less power so the heat will also be reduced causing the yellow look. I saw that about a week ago when I was parked in front of a sheet of glass.

Then I guess HID or LED will be the only good solutions for the LCI AE.
