The 520d is more of a high performance model, so like the M3 CSL and other lightweight racing models, it is not weighed down with unnecessary extra options / weight.

(OK, maybe not - but no harm trying to make a fellow 520d driver feel special hey )

Yeahhh.. I agree... especially when i have it chipped..

* plus even 'newer' 'box coming...
What's that about? The one they are using (555d, 530d & ...) now is just a couple of months old.

Of the info I have recieved, the Sport Auto Trans is not the same as the new 6-gear autotrans in all
E60's LCI's except the 520d.

This appears to be a bit of a mystery... Rumours of VW style DSG boxes (dual-clutch) doesn't seem realistic.

From what I know it's an updated updated steptronic... Paddles + faster hydraulics?

If anyone can confirm otherwise?

Yeah... I don't think you can expect the world for 150? extra over step.

I'm betting that it is the 6 speed ZF box that is in the 335. It's gotten rave reviews.

However, I'm still going with a 6MT. My left foot gets bored.
