I recently picked up my new E60 M5 and today I finally had my first service checked up. I have been looking forward to try out the launch control . I followed every step, pressed the POWER button, turned off the DSC, put the gear change in mode 6, hold the gear lever forward, step on the accelerator but the car just start moving forward.
Can anyone tell me why the launch control is not activated? Did I missed out on something?

I think it should be a Euro spec as I am in Hong Kong.

If I am not mistaken, launch control is not activated until after your first service, which in the US is 1200 miles so I guess 2000 km in HK.

I just had my first service done today but nothing was mentioned about activating the launch control. Do you know if they have to activate it manually or will it activate automatically by itself after 2000kms?

I am not sure, but I remember reading that it has to be activated manually by a technician. I would suggest that you ask the dealership if it was acticvted during your last service there.

LC activates itself after the first service but the mileage/km can vary -

Go through the same steps, but really put the accelerator down fast.
