The L7 isn't a factor in MP3 playback.
As long as you have the Professional Radio you should be able playback MP3.
This is also included with SatNav and Comms pack.
I have both and it works fine.

The MP3 playback comes with the Radio Professional, which is part of the Navigation. In Germany this can also be selected without Nav when ordering the car. If the car has no nav it can be radio business, which can't play MP3's.
Anyways, if the car was built before this year it might have to be enabled by the dealer and maybe a software update is needed.
