Here's one of a forum member~

I've installed many a wheel/tire combinations on many cars over many years and my experience with wheels is this.

Modular wheels (2 piece/3 piece) are very light but tend to be weaker (as in more prone to bending). Especially if you live in an area/region where the roads are rough, pitted, pot-holed and uneven.

Single piece wheels tend to be stronger (much less prone to bending), but they tend to be a bit less 'bling'!

Wheels with deep rims are weaker than ones with shallower rims.

I've always had modular wheels, but with bending issues and Korean roads, I decided this time to go with a single piece wheel, but the BBS LM and LM-Rs keep calling me!

Ah~ The BBS AIR ll CY... I haven't seen them on a car before. Looks alright in the pictures (although I prefer wheels that show more of the brake calipers and discs ). Are you thinking of putting the AIRs on your car?

So.. what is your opinion? The BMW Style 167 Ms or the BBS LM/LM-Rs?

Mind you... The BBS LM/LM-Rs are much more expensive than the 167s... more than double the price!

Yeah, never saw these BBS rims before, the BBS AIR II CY. Seems like a new series they're putting out.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting these for my car because they show less of the calipers/discs -- I'm not getting Brembos.. hehehe

And yeah, I'd get the LM's over the 167's.....

After all, BBS seems to be the 'in' thing over in Asia alot.. hehehe..

In Korea, most of the wheels you see are the Japanese forged modulars like Work, SSR, Enkei and the like, but mostly on Korean cars. On BMWs, you see alot of BBS wheels. Especially on the 3er. Hmmm... the BBS LM/LM-R.... they cost around US$1,800 a piece over here. While the 167 Ms are US$800.00... big difference...

As for wheels for your car, I think the BBS AIRs will look good. Do you have an aero kit on your car?

What I've been told is that most of the cast BBS wheels are produced in Korea by ASA (which is a subsidiary of Hankook tire). I'm not sure how valid this claim is, but I do know that BBS and ASA are connected somehow. A few years back, I heard that Hankook tire bought a big stake in BBS when BBS was in financial difficulties, but I haven't found anything to validate what I heard.

Mike... The BBS AIR CYs look good! And with BBS wheels, you can't go wrong on quality.

Can I get some opinions on this Remus quad and Rieger diffuser set-up? I'm thinking of doing the same for my car (originally decided to just a Remus dual exhaust system). And... Does anyone know which model Rieger diffuser is on this car?
Anyone???
