Isn't kickdown also applicable to mannual tranny's? The mannual seems to imply this.

That must be a typo. Kickdowns shouldn't be made during brake-in! The engine revs high and shifts very late!

The manual has a kickdown to use it you push iun clutch, downshift, give a little gas let up clutch

I continue to learn more and more from this site. I never new manual tranny's had a kickdown feature. Silly me, I always downshifted. When I get my new E60 next week I guess I'll have to see if the SMG has the kickdown feature too!
