I just got my 2005 545i and right after, I got 10% tint all around.
But after I got tint job, my key remote won't work even in 10 fts away.
I had to close to rear window to make it work.
And I contact dealer, and they said car doesn't have any problem at all.
But the dark tint makes remote don't work.
Is it true? I see alot of them with dark tint and never heard this kinda problem.
in order to lock/unlock my car, I have to be closed to rear window.
Help me guys!

when I am in the car, it works perfectly fine everytime, and I even got a brand new key.
And still I have to be real closed enough to make it work.
Dealer keeps saying that dark tint make it not working.
And if on the matalic tint, it 100% don't work.
And they suggest me to take the tint off and try.
This is kinda fraustrating. Should I force them to fix it?

Thanks so much.
However, why is mine not working even mine is not metalic at all.
Is it just because it's relatively dark? (10%)

You might have to switch out your tints to CERAMIC!!!

I recommend Huper Optik or Formula One.

i dont know if your aware but the sensor for the key responder is located on your rear window at the top right hand corner, so if your tint is very dark it will interfear with the signal, try putting the key next to the top right 6" square of your rear window

good luck.

i believe it is a tint..

I got dark tint and remote didnot work well with distance. Last week i took my tint off and i tried again with same key and it was much better. My SA told me that my tint would be the problem...
