My Ride: BMW E60 530i, Production Date May 2005

Does the rear view mirror position get stored in the seat memory?

My seat, steering wheel and side mirrors position get restored depending on which key is used, just always thought it odd that the centre rear view mirror position remains.

Follow this link in the forum and go to page 46 of the UK handbook it is explained there.

Right...read P46. My iDrive doesn't have the "Last seat pos" option. My handbook doesn't mention it either. So is this something a software upgrade will provide??? <_<

This is not an easy question to answer and as ABC has mentioned different model years and versions of software have different capabilities, I suggest a visit to a friendly dealer (not sure where you are in the UK) and ask them to identify the version of software and what can be and what cannot be programmed into your car. My experience of BMW dealers is that approached properly they can be very helpful.
