The remark above was presumably a response to this question:

"For instance, would the z06 (7 litre) ?60K beat a Lotus Exige (1.8 litre) ?30K on a twisty track ?"

Hats of to znod who provided evidence that the 'vette could indeed pull this off on the nurbergring. We don't hear a lot about corvette in the uk as a 7 litre car is deff not a practical option here. But the info provided by znod does impress.

However the point I really wanted to make was that, for me, cars like the vette seem to be about 'brute force'. Whilst I would concede that this lap time suggests that corvette engineers HAVE finally worked out how to set up a car for cornering, I am still personally more impressed by the lotus and it's ability given it's 1800cc engine.

Presumably True Blue would prefer us all never to ask questions? Perhaps that is why he has learned so little and developed such bizzarre interpersonal skills ???

Can we get more specific info about the cars on TopGear? It's kind of hard to know what's what. But, whatever the little Lotus beat a pretty impressive list of cars. I would not be surprised if the Vette is not even a C6, but it might be.

I'd love for some of you buffoons to follow me and see how well you really can drive. My guess is that you'll have a smashed front end and will be waiting for a flatbed to come get your car. Everybody talks a good game, but then when the money is on the table ........ chirp.......chirp......chirp......... You couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel and yet I'm supposed to respect such crap-spreading...

The reality is that a really good driver could take his 2.5 liter Z4 (nevermind his Corvette) out and smoke the "posers" in their carrera's and whatever else. A really good driver in a 3.0 liter X5 could smoke a poser in a Z06.....Posers think their 20 minute commute to work in a 4000lb sedan makes them Emerson Fittipaldi....


Anyone stupid enough to think that an e60 will hang with a C6 is surely the type that would overestimate his and his car's abilities. Let's see DSC suspend the laws of physics for you...

I guess the thread has been beaten to death. I am not trying to stir things up. But I'll certainly reply to assinine posts when it is necessary. And that even includes those who grossly overestimate their cars ability but don't want to talk about it anymore....

 

Thanks 700700. It definitely is not an embarassment to be beaten by the Lotus on that track.

 

I don't think that the way to deal with opinions of others you don't agree with is to blast them. Just present facts as best you can and let them think what they want. While I have been guilty of doing otherwise, we want our forums to be flame free, respectful, and polite--not that you are the only one doing otherwise on this thread. Why not take me up on my suggestion and show others how godd the Corvette track cars are?
