You legend! ... awesome purchase

I test drove one recently ... f&%king amazing ... so much mid range torque, bumps you back in the seat
Mark my words ... that 4.8lt at 360hp/270kw is WAY underrated ... I've been in a chevy with 325kw - the 550 was EASILY as quick

My best advice I can give you if you are buying NEW

Whenever you take the car into the dealership for a service, failure, etc ... ENSURE there is a case of beer on the passenger seat... let the service manager know it is for the boys in the workshop

... Trust me on this ... best money you will ever spend! ...$20 here and there ... will save you MASSIVE cash long term

I'm just about to ditch my 2005 E46 ... they have done $11k work on it ... free of charge ...
... no shit ... bar a few slight switches, it feels brand new ... Whenever it is serviced ... they fully detail the car ... inside & out ... again

Peace! ...

The 550 really needs a rear limited slip diff..... Otherwise, it's the perfect sports sedan.

I think the 550 and 535 have electronic limited slips. I was at a track with member Poleposition and we both were laying down rubber from both rear tires. It must apply the brake to the spinning wheel when DSC/DTC is turned off.

I believe the 550i as some form of LSD but doesn't have a tru LSD need for something say like drifting (which is fun but not in a 550i.) now with dtc limited I can leave two strips of rubber down when i take off but, with it off I only put down one strip?!?!

I love my 550i never planned on buying it my girlfriend has an X5 and we took it in to be serviced and we got a 335i loaner and I was like this is nice to drive but too small. so i went over to the CPO lot while there to see what the 535 was like and it was nice but the guy at the dealer knew what he was doing he told me that i need to test drive the 550i. so i test drove it and when i got dack i told him he had to get me into this car so he worked out a deal and i drove it home that night. oh man you will enjoy your 550i i just wish i could have gotten a deal like that but it does suck not have sporkpackage but for that price you can do without

is the 2007 550i sport package different from the 2008 550i sports package?

I think the M Sport package is only available for 2008+ models

+1. Get it. Don't worry about lack of sport package. It is still fantastic car.
