I just went through the same ordeal. Could just need a new battery. The battery was good enough to not warrant any suspicion, but it turned out to a little "weak." After replacing a negative battery cable with the IBS and the positive battery cable (what the codes said the problem could possibly be), it turns out to be the battery just holding a lower charge. If it isn't the cracked floor mat sensor (which would be covered by recall)..which BMW charges $$$ to just diagnose if it isn't the recall, 9 out of 10 probability it is the battery.

Wish me luck guys I'm fixing to call the dealership and see if I can get in on this recall.... And as far as the battery I don't get how it can cause all these types of error codes or whatever

BMWs as well as many late models cars are very sensitive to voltage issues. Just a couple months ago I let my battery die by accident (trunk left open) and had it jumped. Check engine lights and transmission codes (even would not shift out of 3rd gear) as soon as I drove off. I knew there was nothing wrong with the the car (or so I hoped) so after 20 mins of charging the battery with the engine on, I pulled over and reset the computer. No more of the same codes and it shifted perfectly.

Yeah battery will cause weird issues.

I have this error message occasionally when the battery voltage is low. After a recharge it goes away.

Or it could be a false positive. I have cleared the code for people with this in the past, and it goes away permanently.

Just got off the phone with the dealership (BMW Clear Lake) and they ran my vin and it looks like I have 2 recalls on my car for the break booster line and the FLOOR SENSOR MAT, so looks like I'm gone in tonight for a lil bit of free maintenance
