Hey guys whats up. This question has been bothering me for a while now. I will most likely finish payingf my car off in about a year or so. So I've been thinking of selling mine, and getting myself another e60, I'm between these two models.

a 2006 550i i get the powerful V8, sound is music to my ear beautiful car. But isk how reliable is the V8 engine compared to the I6 (as ive heard is the most reliable engine from BMW). And also the mileage i get 16.5 Mpg on my 530i, so im thinking i would get less on the V8 model...so plz owners of 545 and 550 plz pitch in .

a 2008 535i I get all the LCI goodies, same engine as mine except on turbo steroids, and with the Jb+ even more (close to 400 Hp). Mileage i dont think it would to much different from my present one. Then again the engine idk how reliable would it be with this turbo, ,aybe the risk of blowing it or something...idk so plz fellow 535 owners pitch in.

Thanks.

if you go with the 535i

go with a flash not a piggyback tune, more reliable and "safer" IMO....I had the jb+ on my 535i for about 18 months, it's nice kick over stock, but if I had to do it over again, I'd spend a little bit more $ for a flash....especially since you run the risk of throwing codes with the jb+ at settings higher than default...

rpi scoop, ess/rpi flash, rpi exhaust = win

giac and dinan are other options as well...

gl with your decision...

don't let the hpfp issues scare you off either...do itttttt

If you are going to mod the engine, go with the 535i, more products to boost power and power beyond what the 545i can do.

that's actually a really tuff one. My heart says go with the 550i since i own one and love it, but my brain says go with the newer 535i and then mod the hell out of it and you'll blow the doors off any 550i. Plus, you're getting a two year newer car, like you said with all the LCI goodness. I'd go 2008 535i man, as much as it pains me to say. Now if you were talking 2008 550i to 2008 535i, I'd go 550i all the way, but that two year difference is the thing now isn't it? LCI didn't do much, but it did enough. YOu wouldn't have mentioned it if it didn't matter to you.

Ive had my 2004 545i for about a year now and i love it. With the v8 it makes an aftermarket exhaust sound awesome, and as far as gas goes i usually get about 19.5 around town and about 27 highway so its not too bad.

yeah try that in Miami. If i get a 16.5 with an I6, the V8 would be worst.
