Just wondering how BMW upgrades our cars' software. By a disc? Or connect to a computer? If connect to a computer, where's the socket? I remember I read a post saying that it took as long as 5 hours to have the whole CIP upgraded.

 

They update via a computer and connect it to a port in the footwell near the inside trunk release button (if you have one) and another connection is made somewhere inside (above) the glove compartment.
