Hi all. My lease on my '06 530i is up in a month and a half and I just ordered my new 535xi. Went with:

As much as I loved that fact that in Indiana (USA) when it snowed, my runflats froze solid and I got to play ice racer with my handbrake just to get up my driveway (approx 40 degree slope), I'm really looking forward to the all wheel drive to make things a little less...er...interesting in the winters!

Congrats!! One small suggestion...get the anthracite headliner. It's $500 but with black interior it looks great. The headliner on the car is gray and with black interior, it doesn't look as complete. It's a matter of personal preference, but I would opt for it imop!

As pointed out, it is a matter of personal opinion. I have the black interior and LOVE the gray for the top half of the car (can't see ever ordering the anthracite headliner). Lightens it up a lot - almost makes the interior seem inviting!

 

Why the move to all wheel drive?

 

I live in Indiana in the U.S. and I have a driveway that has about a 40 degree slope to it. While the neighbors (and the wife) are really entertained as I do the high speed slide up the driveway using the handbrake (I'm really quite good at it - no collisions with anything so far), I decided that since I'm too much of a "Bull Headed American"(tm) and unwilling to put snow tires on my car, I'd be better off with the AWD.

The one thing I will miss is my active steering. I think I'm part of the 0.003% of the world's population that actually loves that option.
