My Ride: E60 2006 525d Steptronic, Carbon Black, M Sport-Package, Style 135M Rims, Beige Interior, Dark Poplar Wood Trim, Comfort Seats, Professional Navigation with BMW Online and BMW Assist, HUD, Logic7, TV, Bluetooth, Speech Control, Active Steering, Adaptive Bi-Xenon, 6-Disc Changer, Heated Seats (front and back), Extended Climate, PDC, Sunroof, Auto-Dim. Int + Folding Exterior Mirrors, Electric Rear- and Side Blinds, Foldable rear seats, Electric Adjustable Steering Wheel
i have washed my dads E60 just now. took some pics. carbon black looks so great!
see my gallery
as i cleaned the rims i noticed the brakes. they're very rusty. is that normal? the brakes in our E39 were not as rusty as in the E60.

.I noticed that you don't have any 13/X sign on your rims so that means you have other rims than i have...

Yup, the rust will appear almost instantly during a wash of your car. Even the humidity of rain will add a fine layer of rust.
No need to worry. As posted above it will wear off and normal.

See the before and after pics below. Applying the brakes gently over a 20m distance after washing the car will clean the discs.
