Wow, this car has alot of power, I took it to 5.5 rpms for the first time yesterday, its amazing and the SMG is even beter at high RPMs. Know I just need to find some suckers willing to race me at a red light.

Try to keep your cool for a while.
The handbook says that after the brakein period you can slowly start increasing the rpms!
After some three thousand miles you can really burn.

Why race suckers? What fun is racing something that is not at least semi-competitive. I like having a stealthish car that may be able to beat some things it shouldn't--like maybe 550i's.
I like cars in the neighborhood of the 545i's/550i's because they are fun to mod/make stealthful, and 0 to, say, 60 is fun and not too dangerous if one pays attention to the circumstances. My Z06 is fun, but not for racing. For one thing, cars that might be competitive with it are, as is it, too fast to do streeties with unless under very fortuitious circumstances. And, what would be the point in racing, for example, a naturally aspirated Mustang GT in a Z06? Similarly, it's not much fun, or cost effective, to mod a Z06, with the standard first mods, because you get so little out of them relatively and you can't stealth a Z06 unless you spend big bucks producing a car that is way too fast for anything but the dragstrip.

[/quote]Have you seen a test of the SMG or the manual? As I recall, the big three US mags all tested the Step. Or, are you comparing with BMW's claimed SMG/manual value? If so, then I doubt that comparison would be fair.

Here is Autoweek link (manual): http://www.autoweek.com/article.cms?articleId=101027. I remember a 545 vs. STS test where 6 speed ran 0-60 mph in 5.65 sec but cannot find the link. I also remember Canadian driver getting 5.6 sec out of SMG. All auto tests were in 5.2-5.3 sec range.
