My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I totally love this car over my 545. The interior has better finishes, better ride and I love the Natural Brown/Light Poplar wood with the Platinum Bronze exterior.
My golf pro does not want to race his 545 against me. There was someone in this Forum that was within 50 miles but his car has some performance options like exhaust, intake etc. so a direct comparison between the cars is not there
I do know someone with a stock 2007 550 Sport that might do it, I will keep you posted.
Anyway the 535 definitely feels stronger in the first half of the rev range than my 545, this is all seat of the pants stuff though, and feels about the same up to red line. The engine is smoother though, might have something to do with the 545 having 40,000 miles on it and the 535 only having 1,200 miles.
I might see the 2007 550 Sport guy tonight and I will post my findings.

BTW, I know they charge you guys and extra arm up North for an E60, but at least you got carbon black 535i.
Penetta, you clear for take off now, downshift, redline etc.

I have seen another performance increase after 3k miles. I suspect this will continue up to 10k or 12k. My fuel mileage has also increased about 12% to 15%.
