Just got MP3 enable 05 525 w/ navi but the cd skips

Well my service light was on for an oil change and made an appointment with Long beach BMW online, which i must say is a great feature. Anyways i mentioned to the SA if they could enable MP3s to work, at first he said it might be a charge i said fine as long as if it wasn't over $50. He called later that day and said it was free, sweet!
So i burned a CD-r today at 16x, but it started skipping from one song to the next. After about 3 songs it played one song for about 30 sec and started skipping back and fourth. I tried using the Idrive but everything seemed delayed also the buttons on the steering were delayed. my question is is it the CD-R or the software for MP3s. Any help would be appreciated

Did you try to burn a CD at slower speed than 16x?
