How true. Just wait until I get 30k. I only have 10k.

Hello Znod,

Did you get a new engine?

Already??

I agree with all you say and indicated doubt because of my "small sample" above. And, as indicated, my conclusions are cautiously drawn where appropriate. At this point, I think we have considered all we "know." And, my agruments are based on all we know; remember they are "just for fun." Time will tell though. As of now, no one has exactly refuted my "for-fun" arguments, although we have one case where a 550i actually beat a 545i in a race. To date, besides this case, the only other counter argument apparently is "it ought to be 'this' way, not the way your arguments imply." You can't hang me for something I didn't say. I never said my arguments would hold up as additional data are obtained. But, we shall see.

I certainly wouldn't want to race you or Grogan on an acceleration sprint!

No, I was saying that my original engine, my one and only, has only 10k miles.

With a little experimentation and practice I am sure you could hold your own.I firmly believe there is very little difference in all cars of the same model and engine. It is just a matter of knowing how to get the best from your car under various road and weather conditions.

I believe the 550 is a faster car than the 545.It is just not a lot faster. The only real difference is the .4 liters. This HP advantage will show up at higher speeds where traction and other driver related factors are negated.

You are too modest Zman.Based on your ability to analize data and willingness to conduct many tests I am sure you can more than hold your own under race conditions.

I am at 21.5 Kmiles now so your car should continue to get faster as you gain miles.

No practice needed on my car any more, g-man. Once I lost the ability to spin my wheels to the point of dysfunction, it became mainly just point and shoot with me. All I have to do is to avoid brake torquing too much so I get essentially no wheel spin. I want my wheel spinability back.

Just install a set of goodyear RSA standard tires on your car and you will get lots of wheelspin.

I have provided all that we know about what the mags do above and also what I do. Please reread all my posts. As indicated, my passes are adjusted for weather and to 500'. I also mentioned that there are noncomparabilities. As I also mentioned, my agruments are based on all we know at this time. CD has not yet tested a 550i. I wish I could bump into a 550i at the right place and the right time. I've actually never seen on on the street. As mentioned, MT adjusts for weather. And, I rounded most of my data up (especially 0 to 60 and 1/4 ET) since MT does not give 100ths. And, remember, I gave my averages--not my bests.
Sorry Don, but until you get another 550 in your area and line up next to it, the #s don't mean squat. Find someone out there by you, go to a track and see what happens. Then report back. You just can't compare numbers unless you are running side by side.

Hey Znod,

My guess if you modded the 550 step like your 545 it would be faster. That 30 more in hp and torque is gonna account for something.
