My Ride: 525i, Orient Blue, bought used with 22000 miles. Grey lether, sport package, BMW Assist, Cold Weather package. Xenons. NOT premium for some reason, I do like the metal finish vs. the wood, but do miss the garage opener.
My car just started having a problem going into PARK. I push it into park, but it doesn't go "all the way" and so I have to push it harder than is normal to get it to register.
I push it in where it feels like it's in park but then it won't let the key loose or it won't allow the car to start because it's not registering as being in "park".
Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi
Sounds like you could have one of the wires in the centre console stuck in the forward section of the gear lever.
When I was messing about with my wiring loom and bits on my car, there was one time when I left one of the BMW wiring loom cables protruding from underneath the ashtray. The result was that when Steptronic lever was pushed into the park position, part of the aluminum gear lever structure got caught on this cable. To me, it felt like a medium amount of resistance. I thought nothing of it at first but then I realised that there was something wrong. I moved the cable out of the way and everything was fine again.
Anyway, the above could be a reason... My 2c worth...
All the Best
