An e38 Sport is a perfect tweener car ... I miss my V-8 too

Hope it's trouble-free for you until you locate your next 550!

Congrats on the E38 man! It's a beutiful car! Glad the radiator is already replaced
I would also take a close look at the coolant expansion tank, as they have been known to crack. Happened to my buddy's '99 328i not too long ago. The car is probably due for a coolant system overhaul at 65-80k miles.

Wow, Pete. I am going through the same thoughts right now. I want an 08 550i but I really miss my 2001 740i sport. I recently totaled my 545i and I don't mind finding another 2001 740i or 2003 540i sport for a year or so.

Pete that's a fantastic choice! Like you, I still pine for my ol' E38.

Is it this one? Very nice looking.

Congrats and show us some pics of the pick-up and trip home.

Yep. That's it. Thanks for the kudos!

Very excited to go pick it up on Saturday, but a little nervous too. Just hoping that the seller's use of the word "immaculate" matches my definition. LOL. I realize its now a 9 year old car, but I suffer some serious neurosis about the condition of my cars, so my fingers are crossed.

The seller has been a really great guy to work with, sent additional photos of everything i wanted, obtained a complete BMW service history for me, and even had the car detailed and the oil changed for me at my request for the trip home. I have high hopes its going to work out just as I had planned.

Photos to come on monday morning (after my 18 hour drive home on saturday afternoon & sunday).
