Last week we bought a 2008 528xi. It's our third BMW (first, a 2001 330i, which I still drive; second, a 1985 524td). The more I drive the car, the more I love it. My only disappointments (and this is based entirely on the car we bought): I'd like to upgrade the wheels for summer (I'm particularly fond of the M135 wheels), we did not get Xenons, and we have no warranty (car has just over 50k miles).

I think these are all things I can address with aftermarket solutions. I do have a couple of questions:

1. The Xenons... There are many threads about Xenon upgrades. Most seem to deal with pre-2008 e60s. What I am looking for is the "best" solution for a 2008 e60. By best, I mean one that many people have implemented without issue. It seems that DDM 5Ks are among the most popular on the board. When researching vendors, I thought Philips had a pretty solid looking solution (http://www.philipshidkits.com/genuin...b-single-beam/). Has anyone installed it? Thoughts? For the DDM kit, how have you secured the ballasts? Any concerns with the 55w bulbs and heat in the 2008 e60 headlight housing? BTW-- my goal is to achieve the best visability.

2. I'll keep looking around for people selling wheels. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the best solution will be to get wheels originally intended for the 528xi. That is, the offset for the xi is unique, and something stock is better than going with spacers.

3. My gut on the warranty is that they're all bad deals. Many involve hassles in getting reimbursed. They're all designed to charge you much more than they're likely to pay out. If you think differently, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Anyway, I really appreciate all of the information you all have shared on this board. I thank you in advance for any advice you have on the above.
