Come one dude!!! thats no way to buy a car, you should know better then that  Anyway first off call them and ask them to refund you, it might be that the finance department did not know you returned the car (long shot). If they tell you to take a hike.........GET A LAWYER, and you wont have to go to TX to get one.
Good luck, hope everything works out.

I can't believe you bought it, some times trying to save a grand or two just makes you end up loosing more money int he long run.

All the great advice,( that was sought after by the OP), from pretty much everyone on here, to leave it well alone, seem s to have been totally ignored

AFAIK, there is no such thing as a cooling off period in the U.S. for a new or used car purchase.
When I use to sell cars in Wisconsin if my memory serves me right we had a 12 or 24 or 48 hour law that you could renig on a car deal from a dealership. Now I can't remember if once you took delivery if that was then voided (I want to say it was). That is also why the dealership would always want some money down on a signed contract. Because by law the dealership could keep the down payment up to a certain amount (I think it was up to $500). But mainly they wanted money down because people are less likely to not pull out of the deal. Only reason why I remember this is because it was part of the test we had to take at the DMV to get a license to sell cars at the dealership. This was about 11-12 years ago unless something has changed since then.

Having lunch on Friday with a friend (manager of Toyota dealership) and I'll ask him if it still exists. All states have different laws on selling cars and the procedures after the sale.

P.S.: I've only seen it happen once after a gentlemen took delivery and he lost his job the following day. He picked up the car and only drove the car home basically that night after and put on about 10 miles. Went to work and was part of a mass layoff that previously he was told he wasn't going to be part off (which was the only reason why he went through with the new car purchase). No paperwork was filed with the state agencies yet so the dealership in good faith let him return it.

You were warned by many on here to avoid that car. I am hoping you are going to say "April fools!" even though it is July.
The market is so soft. You could have gotten just as good a deal on a perfect condition car and not had these headaches. Lesson learned.
