Hello all, I have been lurking and searching on here for a while while I searched for the right E60 to replace my 2000 E39... This weekend I picked up a beautiful 2005 545i Sport... I am loving it so far, what a great car...

Just Bought a '05 545i - Moonroof Problem-img_5106.jpg

Anyway, there is one issue that needs to be fixed and I can't find anything here on it...

If I open the moonroof all the way and then go to close it, it hits the windscreen and opens back to 1/2 way. I reinitialized the moonroof per instructions on these forums but it still does not close. I can get it to close by holding the windscreen down as the glass slides closed, but this is annoying...

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Theres a SIB out on this - has to do with the closing mechanism of the moonroof. Your dealer should be able to fix if your warranty is still in effect...

Does anyone know what the SIB# is or where I could access that info? It isn't in warranty anymore, but the independent dealer I bought the car from said they would fix it...

Thanks

+1 I had the same issue with my 545i and ended up playing "Chicken" with the sunroof as I held down the wind deflector too. If it's under warranty, get it seen to by the dealer ASAP!

What exactly do you mean by "cycle"?

Open it ALL the way back....then CLOSE it completely. Mine only seems to happen when I open the roof half way.
