Sales of the E60 in June were down 22% from the same month last year. But year-to-date 5 series sales are down only 10% ... much better than most models (better than 90% of all other models sold in the U.S.).

What's Hot
Hyundai Genesis (9,938 units YTD to the E60's 20,807)
VW Jetta (sales up 1% YTD)
Honda Insight (6,955 units in just the past 3 months)
Chevy Camero (9.320 units in June)
Audi Q5 (1,324 units in June compared to just 459 BMW X3 sales)
Subaru (YTD sales down only 1%)

What's Not
MB CLS (YTD sales off 56%)
Smart Fortwo (YTD sales off 56%)
Porsche Cayman (YTD sales off 64%)
Lexus GS series (YTD sales down 61%)
BMW F01 7 series (only 807 units sold in June compared to 814 the prior year)

Your telling me the last year of the old 7 series sold more than the first year of the new one? Ouch!

I'm somewhat surprised to see the CLS on there though.

I'm sure those numbers are affected by many who want to wait for the '11 model.

To be fair to the new 7er, at 807 units it did outsell the Lexus LS (806) and the S-Class (750), while with Audi A8 sold only 108.

wonder how the Audi A5/S5 is doing. Sat in an S5 today. Seemed extremely nice. on another topic, the new A4 seemed larger than the 3-series and more luxurious.

The Audi A5 is selling well ... I shoulda included it as a Hot car with 3,785 units YTD 2009 versus 2,360 the same period in 2008 (+60%). Great looking car - turns my head every time I see one.

I am not surprised that smart has dropped off. I have no idea why you would want this car. You can get a 4 door civic/corrolla/elantra cheaper with almost the same amount of mpg and can seat 4 and has a boot!
