July '04 5 Series sales of 2,668 units plummeted 49.8% from the 5,313 sold last July. YTD sales of 25,743 5ers is down some 9.7% from the 28,523 sold during the first 7 months of 2003. Note that all three new E60 models had dealer incentives in place starting May 7, 2004 and ending June 30, 2004. However, these incentives were not continued into July. You be the judge of the impact of the dealer incentives on sales of the 5 Series.
For those of you who have any interest, sales of the Mercedes-Benz E Class totaled 4,949 units in July. This was a 12.8% increase from the 4,388 sold last July. YTD sales for the M-B E Class were 32,193 which was a 6.0% increase from the 30,367 sold during the first 7 months of last year.
Please note that I am reporting only United States sales data.
