Question

My mates unfortunate E36 316i

the door just fell off yesterday evening, and well i had to laugh, and thought the members could have a laugh too...........

Same thing happened to me on my E36 325is about a year ago -- went to pull the drivers side door shut, and the inside panel just peeled right off.

A batch of new clips and 15 min of work and it was good as new, but it was a really weird-seeming failure!

yes thats there to yank the door to close shut, as the door hinge clip is on 1 screw only and is mostly just hanging off

hes had this since 2001, and his dad had it before him, since 1991, thats 17 years + now.

however they have a 3 series convertble, and guess what???

a nice E60 525d with ac s rims

what's up with the wood in the door panel? Defintely got you money's worth out of that car I see. There is saying that goes "ride it 'til the wheels fall off" I guess in your case it's "..until the doors fall off"
