My Ride: ready to order: 530i, black, black. Sport, Premium, M Aero kit. Due in April
Default

Hello Forum;
I'm about to be an official owner member placing my order this week, and having decided that my car will be black I run accross that may be a common question.

Jet or Sapphire?

My wife currently drives a Sapphire 325 convertible and with the little shinny sparks looks great. But since the 5 has more falt panels (doors) and much bigger areas to cover, I was wondering if any of you has the same doubt in the past....

comments are appreciated.
thanks and have an Ultimate Driving Day!

JET black is real black, I like all colors, but only Individuals I like with some tint in it. Depends how often you want to wash and wax it. I luv it.

I prefer black sapphire. I had a jet black 528 before my black sapphire E60. The E60 is so much easier to clean and doesn't show every little imperfection. I detail my cars a lot and actually enjoy it, however, it's nice when you don't have the time to spend on it but a quick wash still looks very good. Either way, I think you'll be happy. It just comes down to how much work do you want to put into it to keep it looking clean. Welcome!

He'll be PLENTY different in Miami with a black car--either flavor. White is Florida's official car color.

Cheers,

I love both blacks, only problem I have, is the swirls and it really shows dirt if you don't keep it clean. Make a good chopce, and keep it washed and shiny

I think the black sapphire always looks dirty and swirly...go jet. it is also easier to repair if need be.
