JDN:
What is the story with your software update? You mentioned, on another thread, your car has been at the dealer for THREE WEEKS for a software update. What version did you have? What problems were you trying to cure? If this topic has already been covered, my apologies. Thanks for any insight.

I had the original version 11.3. No significant problems with the software or the car. I did have a fan belt noise at idle that I thought might need a fix so I dropped it off at 7 am with the dealer on Oct. 1 to check. I also mentioned that BMW Assist could only be contacted via SOS, RDS did not work any more (works on the X3 loaner), one window had reversed itself once upon a time and the driver seat did not go up and down. None of that was critical to me. I think the dealership opted for an update and something unexpected happened to the unit.
I have a personal relationship with the parts manager. He said that this dealership has four CAS units on order and the story is the same for all four vehicles. They have no idea when the units will be shipped from Germany. Basically, I am dead in the water.

Hey JDN,
I just gave back the X3 and got my ride back . Now with V.13.somethin'.
Apparently it was some faulty brake sensor that caused all of the faults... Or so they say. Anyway, it works now. Hope you get yours back soon.
